2009 One Voice for Children Grant

The GFWC Williston Junior Woman's Club was thrilled to be able to present The Guardian Foundation, the non-profit arm of Guardian ad Litem, with a GFWC Florida Juniors' Special Project: One Voice for Children grant of $1000 at the club's May meeting.  The grant will help provide some of the over 100 Levy County children in the Guardian ad Litem Program with the "extras" that make being a kid fun.  These "extras" include summer camp, youth sports, school field trips, clubs, and other extra curricular activities.  This grant continues the club's work as Guardian ad Litem "Guardian Angels."

Guardian ad Litem provides a voice for abused and neglected children.  Guardian ad Litem volunteers represent the best interests of the child in court proceedings.  "Guardian Angels" sponsor a child and monetarily provide the little things that make childhood special such as birthdays, holidays, field trips and sports teams.  Volunteers are needed in the Levy County area.  For more information on Guardian ad Litem and how you can help please visit www.gal.alachua.fl.us
