Williston Junior Woman’s Club helps two local agencies with car seats

During tough times – it is nice to hear about some great things going on in our local community! In 2008 the GFWC Williston Junior Woman's Club received a grant to benefit the children of Levy County. The $1,000 grant was co-sponsored by GFWC Florida Juniors’ Special Project: One Voice for Children. The Williston Juniors wrote the grant to help reduce the number of injuries and deaths in Levy County by providing car seats for children.

The GFWC Williston Junior Woman’s Club received the grant to purchase 20 car seats for distribution in Levy County. The two agencies selected for assistance were Tri County Pregnancy Center and Head Start of Levy County. The car seats will go to new moms and foster parents. Correct installation will be provided by local certified car seat technicians. Along with the 20 car seats, Safe Kids North Central Florida also contributed a children’s book with a music CD, rubber duck and car seat safety information.
